Alex is looking forward to meet Mr. Carter for the discussion of one of his project. He calls Ambit9 corporation and ask maria who is secretary of Mr. carter for an appointment. Listen to the conversation he has with Mr. Carter and his secretary Maria.

Making an appointment for a business meeting

Secretary: Good morning, this is Ambit9 Corporation. You are talking to Ms Maria. How may I assist you?

Alex: Hello Maria, I would like to speak with Mr Carter, please.

Secretary: Who’s calling, please?

Alex: I’m Alex from Thomas Smith. Mr Carter asked me to get in touch when I arrived in the U.S.

Secretary: Please hold for a minute. I’m checking with Mr Carter for the same.

Alex: Yes sure, thank you.

(After a minute)

Secretary: Thank you for waiting Mr Alex. I am transferring your call to Mr Carter.

Mr. Carter: Hello Mr Alex. I’m looking forward to meeting you. Can you come by tomorrow?

Alex: Yes, Sure. At what time should I come?

Mr. Carter: I will have my assistant check my calendar and get back to you with the exact time. (OR may be around 9.30.) Can you bring me an outline of the project when you come?

Alex: Yes, I’ll bring the outline when I come to the meeting.

Mr. Carter: Do you think that we should include the entire committee in the meeting or just our sub-committee will do?

Alex: I think that we should have just the sub-committee.

Mr. Carter: OK then, I will make the arrangements for them to attend. Do you need help with the directions?

Alex: Yes please. Where are you located? (OR I think I know where it is. Still you can send me directions just to make sure.)

Mr. Carter: Our offices are just behind the State Capitol building. You can hire a taxi from your hotel. It should only take about twenty minutes by car. (OR You can walk here from your hotel. It should only take about twenty minutes on foot.) (OR We will e-mail you all the information you need.)

Alex: Thank you Mr Carter. I’ll see you tomorrow morning. Have a nice day ahead.

Mr. Carter: I’ll be waiting for you. See you.
